Persons with visual deficiencies in Chisinau to be provided with glasses

Chisinau, 01 August /MOLDPRES/ – The persons with visual deficiencies will benefit from free glasses. There was launched a programme on it by the City Hall of Chisinau, targeting persons with visual impairments in Chisinau.

According to programme, in 2018, an amount of MDL 500 thousand is planned for purchase of glasses for visually impaired ones.

The programme beneficiaries will be adults with a residence visa in Chisinau, with severe, emphatic or disability-aware vision deficiencies, eligible for correction of visual acuity through glasses and with an income less than MDL 3000 per month.

The waiting lists and files of the persons to be insured with glasses will be finalised by Chisinau Territorial Organisation of Association "Asociatia Nevazatorilor din Moldova" (The Association of blind of Moldova). The requested documents package will contain: a copy of identity document, a copy of certificate of disability and income certificate. The priority will include members of Chisinau Territorial Organisation of the Association of blind of Moldova.

The glasses will be made by economic operators, winners of public auctions.
