Chisinau, 2 August /MOLDPRES/- About 42,000 criminal cases were digitized by prosecutors within a year after implementation of automated information system "Criminal Investigation: E-File", which is 100% of all cases.

The figures concern criminal cases initiated since 1 July 2017. Namely, from that date, by order of Prosecutor General Eduard Harunjen, all prosecutors, consultants and specialists of the prosecutor's offices enter daily information about the actions and activities undertaken under criminal cases and materials.

According to today's updated data, prosecutors have digitized about 42,000 criminal cases, as well as nearly 177,000 procedural acts.

The electronic criminal record provides different levels of secure access to data and allows prosecutors to more effectively manage criminal files and generate accurate statistics and reports by automating internal procedures and processes. The software covers all stages of the prosecution, exercised or conducted by the prosecutor, providing access to real-time data, thus reducing delays in making decisions about the criminal case, and excluding the possibility of possible loss or substitution of the materials in the files.

The instrument was worked out by the Estonian company "Andmevara", specialized in IT solutions for various public institutions. The development and implementation of the system is estimated at about 95 thousand US dollars, provided by the European Union.
