Chisinau, 2 August /MOLDPRES/- The head of the customs post and head of the Leuseni Border Police were dismissed from office today. The decision was made at the request of Prime Minister Pavel Filip, after founding last week that the officials have not complied with given instructions.
Dismissals were confirmed by the press services of the respective institutions.
Those dismissed are: Leuseni Customs Head Iurie Maximov and Head of Leuseni 2 Border Police Sector Andrei Toderita. The decisions were signed by the leadership of the Customs Service and Border Police.
The prime minister paid an unexpected visit to Leuşeni customs last week, where he found irregularities.
Specifically, passengers in buses with tourists were off the bus and checked, creating discomfort for citizens, even if the premier had previously asked for this be done only when there were suspicions. Subsequently, Pavel Filip called the Control to analyze the situation. After the checks, it was found that both the head of the customs and the head of the Border Police did not meet the requests and continued inspecting passenger buses.
Following the notifications, yesterday the premier demanded the resignation of the two officials.
