National Army contingents to get allowances for renting dwellings

Chisinau, 3 August /MOLDPRES/- National Army contract troops will benefit from a monthly allowance for renting dwellings, according to a government decision that was published today in the Official Journal of Moldova.

The document provides for the payment of monthly allowance to contract servicemen who have not been provided with housing, including service, in the garrison where they perform the military service and are included in the applicant's list requiring provision with service housing.

To qualify for financial compensation, the soldiers will have to have rent contracts and provide evidence that they have no dwelling. According to the draft, the compensation will not exceed the salary.

At present, 1,389 applicants for rent compensation are registered at the Ministry of Defense, 961 of them work in Chisinau and 352 - in Balti.

The grant of financial compensation to the contract servicemen for renting of housing is part of the actions planned to achieve the goal of improving the social package provided in the "Professional Army 2018-2021" Program, an initiative launched in March this year.
