About 100 booths evacuated from capital since beginning of year

Chisinau, 3 August /MOLDPRES/- About 100 booths have been evacuated from the streets of the capital since the beginning of this year. However, thousands of booths remain to operate in Chisinau, and municipal authorities have assured that they would continue to take steps to reduce their number.

The information was presented today by a working group, which examined location or relocation of booths in the capital. The members of the working group recommended to the general directorate of trade to work out a concept regarding the aesthetic and sanitary requirements of the kiosks due to be located in the capital during the summer of next year and to set the unique physical parameters and the design model for all types of street commercial installations.

Acting mayor of Chisinau Ruslan Codreanu said that some employees of the city hall did not understand the message that the number of booths should drop and continue to sign schemes for extension, location and relocation of booths.

Codreanu also noted he would propose punishing those guilty of urban chaos on location of booths in green areas and prohibited places.
