Meteorologists forecast warm weather in early August with no rain in Moldova

Chisinau, 03 August /MOLDPRES/ – The beginning of the last summer month is characterised by temperatures around 30ºC and variable sky, especially without rainfall.
According to the SHS's information and media communication service, the end of this week will be determined by high temperature values, with maximum of 31ºC – 33ºC, during daytime. At night, there will be temperatures of 15ºC – 21ºC, coolest being traditionally in north of Moldova.
At the beginning of the following week, thermometer indicators will drop by 1 – 2 degrees, and there are possible short-range rains with electric discharge in some areas. Since Wednesday, rain is not expected, and on average the country is expected to have temperatures around 30ºC.
The popular name of August is Gustar, automatically approaching the verb to taste, coming from the fact that now there are eaten most of fruits and vegetables that ripen. This name also refers to approach of autumn.
According to SHS specialists, in August the average monthly air temperature varies from +19ºC to north of Moldova to +21ºC in the south. The coldest month of August for the whole instrumental period was 1976, when average monthly air temperature ranged between +15.3°C (Briceni) and +17.8°C (Tiraspol, Comrat). The warmest month of August was in 1946, 1992 and 2015, when the average monthly air temperature oscillated in territory between +22.9°C (Briceni) and +25.7°C (Comrat).
