Government to cover repatriation costs of six Moldovans died in Kaluga

Chisinau, 4 August /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Pavel Filip ordered today creation of a crisis cell to provide all necessary support to those involved in the road accident near the Kaluga region, the Russian Federation, and their relatives. This includes representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, the General Police Inspectorate, the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU), the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The premier asked IGSU to send a team of specialists to Russia to back the wounded and to help in repatriation of the bodies. Therefore, today 4 IGSU employees go to Russia for this purpose. At the same time, Pavel Filip asked the embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Moscow to ensure that those traumatized have the necessary care, and if their condition is serious, IGSU will ensure their transportation at home with the SMURD crew. Employees of the embassy went to the scene of the accident and to the hospital where the injured have been hospitalized.
Premier conveys condolences to relatives of those who died in the tragic accident.
He said that the costs of repatriating the bodies of six dead Moldovans will be covered by the government of the Republic of Moldova.
According to the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, this morning, at 7:40, a road accident involving three transport units took place on the M3 route to Ukraine near the Kaluga region, the Russian Federation. Eight people died, of which six are citizens of Moldova. Another eight Moldovans are hospitalized with injuries.
