20 trolleybuses with air conditioning to be assembled by late 2018

Chisinau, 6 August /MOLDPRES/- A number of 20 new trolleybuses will be assembled by late 2018, of which 15 will be walking independently. The director of the „Regia Transport Electric Chişinău” (RTEC), Dorin Ciornai, made the statement today at a weekly meeting of mayoral services.

According to the company's management, all these trolleybuses will be equipped with air conditioning. "The first five vehicles with air conditioning will be put into operation in September. Since early 2018, five autonomous trolleybuses have been put into circulation moving towards Sangera,” he said.

The head said that earlier this year, the municipal enterprise's debts have diminished. "On 1 January, the institution had debts of over 28 million lei, currently 12 million lei. Salaries are paid in due time. For the first seven months of this year there were revenues of 113 million lei, up by 7 million lei than in the same period last year. Unfortunately, at present, the power is worn out at 40%. The company's future objectives are: opening new autonomous routes to run in the suburbs of the capital, implementing the electronic ticketing system and installing the air conditioning system in several transport units,” he said.
