Moldovan government to contribute to construction of aqueduct in south – western district, road rehabilitation in south – central district of Moldova

Chisinau, 09 August /MOLDPRES/ – Twenty thousand people from the south of Moldova will have access to water supply and sewerage services following the construction of magistrate aqueduct Leova – Iargara. For works to be completed in October 2018, MDL 04 million have been allocated from the National Regional Development Fund (FNDR), the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
The decision was taken today by the National Coordination Council for Regional Development (CNCDR) and comes after the visit of Prime Minister Pavel Filip to aqueduct construction site. The PM said then that the Government has been paying more attention to solving the pressing issues of population, including water supply in localities. In upcoming perspectives, Government will identify and allocate other financial resources needed to complete the aqueduct.
The Leova – Iargara aqueduct has a length of 22.9 km, 02 pumping stations and 01 repumping station. It will be connected to 28 localities of Leova district. The project, worth a total of MDL 61 million, is carried out by financial support of the German Government, FNDR and participation of Leova district Council.
Also today, there were allocated MDL 07 million from FNDR for further implementation of project "Rehabilitation of access road infrastructure in Centre Region by asphalting road Clisova – Suhuluceni – Leuseni – Verejeni". On the account of these means, there will be repaired road section of 4.5 km, connecting localities Ciocalteni – Clisova.
The possibility of granting these funds was identified in late July during a working meeting of PM Pavel Filip and the ones in charge for implementation of road rehabilitation projects in Moldova.
