Moldovan official visits India

Chisinau, 10 August /MOLDPRES/- The deepening and expansion of political and economic dialogue with India, the launching of partnerships in various fields, as well as the opening of a diplomatic mission to New Delhi will be discussed on 10-15 August by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Tudor Ulianovschi with Indian officials at a working visit to this country.
According to the MAEIE’s press service, the working agenda includes bilateral meetings with his Indian counterpart, Sushma Swaraj, Ministers of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Economy and Trade, head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, management of Indian corporations and business representatives etc. Discussions will focus on boosting trade and economic cooperation, strengthening the bilateral legal framework, including finalizing draft agreements on health, civil aviation, cyber-industry, liberalization of visa regime for diplomatic and service passport holders, etc.
Moldova and India established diplomatic relations on 12 March 1992. According to MAI data, in 2018, 308 Indian citizens holding temporary residence permits were registered in Moldova, of whom 277 came for studies.
This is the first visit to India of a high-ranking official from the Republic of Moldova over the last 25 years.
