Moldovan director celebrates 65th anniversary

Chisinau, 11 August /MOLDPRES/ – The director and screenwriter, Silviu Fusu, winner of several national and international awards, celebrates his 65th birthday today.
He was born in 1953 in village Parcova, Edinet district. In 1975, he graduated from the Faculty of Philology of the State University of Moldova (USM) and in 1983 – the Institute of Theatre Art (IAT) in Moscow, specialty director.
He was artistic director of the Epic Theatre for Youth (TET) (1984 – 1985) and artistic director of the Epic theatre of ethnography and folklore (TEEF) Ion Creanga (1987 – 1990, 1996 – 2003). He also served as general manager of Romanian Theatre Company "Spațiul mioritic" (Mioritic Space) in Ploiesti (1991) and general director of Theatre Centre (CT) "Mesagerii lui Zamolxis" (The messengers of Zamolxis) in Bucharest (1993 – 2003).
He has performed in theatres from Moldova, Belarus, Canada, Romania, Russia and Ukraine. As a screenwriter, director and scenographer, he made over 200 projects, reference being: "Cercul" (Circle) by W. Shakespeare, Sophocles and Euripides, "Si dragostea coboara seninul in om" (And love descends serenity in man) by M. Eminescu and V. Micle, "Frunza de la urma" (The leaf from the end) by A. Ciubotaru, "Despot Voda" (Oppressor Voda) by V. Alecsandri, "Micile tragedii" (The little tragedies) by A. Pushkin, "Osia dorului" (The axis of longing) by I. Vatamanu, "Casa Mare" (The sitting – room) by I. Druta, "D’ale carnavalului" (About the carnival) and "O noapte furtunoasa" (A stormy night) by I. L. Caragiale etc.
Silviu Fusu is a member of the Theatrical Union of Moldova (UTM) (1986) and member of the Romanian Theatre Union (UTR) (1992).
