Intensive traffic observed in some border crossings

Chisinau, 13 August /MOLDPRES/- A column of about 100 vehicles on the outbound direction was formed this morning in Palanca-Maiaki-Udobnoe crossing point.

According to the "Online Traffic" application on the Border Police website, the average waiting time at that crossing point is 2 hours. In this context, the representatives of the border and customs authorities of Moldova and Ukraine are working at full capacity to streamline cross-border traffic.

The head of the Border Police Press Service, Raisa Novitchi, said that the last week, the most crossed border crossing points were Leuseni and Chisinau International Airport.

In the last seven days, at the crossing points, the flow of people crossing was 586,291, out of which about 300 thousand -entry to Moldova. The busiest day was Sunday, 12 August 2018, with a flow of 95,239 people crossing.

During the previous week, 40 foreign citizens and 46 vehicles were refused to enter Moldova. Two Moldovan citizens could not enter the Russian Federation, and two compatriots were deported from the European Union.
