Moldovan northern district to host Summer People's University

Chisinau, 14 August /MOLDPRES/ – There will take place more cultural actions within the 3rd issue of Summer People's University Vasile Stroescu in Edinet city and communes Badragii Noi, Parcova on 17 – 18 August.  

The event is organised according to the model of Valenii de Munte Summer People's University, Prahova county in Romania, created in 1908 by historian Nicolae Iorga. This issue of Summer People's University will open on Friday morning, 17 August, with laying flowers at bust of Romanian poet and politician Ion Buzdugan. The event will be attended by director of Romanian Cultural Institute Mihai Eminescu in Chisinau, Valeriu Matei, mayor of Edinet, Constantin Cojocaru, writers and historians from Moldova and Romania.

On the same day, it will be inaugurated Public Library Ion Buzdugan at Mihai Eminescu High School in Edinet, after which there will be carried out two sessions of communications: "Deputatii in Sfatul Tarii din tinutul Hotin si rolul lor in realizarea Unirii Basarabiei cu Romania la 27 martie 1918" (The deputies in the Country Counselling in Hotin county and their role in realisation of the Union of Bessarabia with Romania on 27 March 1918) and "Personalitati contemporane. Mihai Cimpoi – critic, istoric literar al culturii" (The contemporary personalities. Mihai Cimpoi – critic, literary historian of culture). The day will end with performance "Tara mea de glorii, tara mea de dor" (My country of glories, my country of longing) supported by Poetic Theatre Alexei Mateevici in Chisinau, at the House of Culture of Edinet city.

On Saturday, 18 August, it will be held unveiling of memorial plaque of deputy in Sfatul Tarii Dimitrie Marza in village Badragii Noi, Edinet district. Then, there will be unveiling of documentary attestation plaque of Parcova commune, unveiling of memorial plaque of deputy in Sfatul Tarii, Anton Crihan and inauguration of Public Library Anton Crihan in Parcova commune.  

Afterwards, it will be held the painting exhibition and Symposium Parcova – 2018. Then there will take place the signing of Twinning Agreements of Parcova commune, Edinet district with Mahala commune, Cernauti region and Berchisesti commune, Suceava county. The organisers and participants will be able to attend the concert of artistic groups: Vatra, from Botosani, Busuioc, Drochia, Ciobanas de la miori from Parcova and ensemble from Mahala commune, Cernauti region.

The Summer People's University Vasile Stroescu is organised by Romanian Cultural Institute Mihai Eminescu in Chisinau, jointly with mayor's office of Parcova commune, district Council of Edinet, Edinet City Hall and Cultural Association Parcova – Nova.
