Head of Moldovan diplomacy visits National Gandhi Museum in New Delhi

Chisinau, 14 August /MOLDPRES/ – We join the messages of non – violence and peacebuilding promoted by the philosophy of great Gandhi. The statement was made by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Tudor Ulianovschi, during a visit to National Gandhi Museum in New Delhi, the MAEIE’s public diplomacy, strategic communication and media interaction service has reported.
The National Gandhi Museum in New Delhi was originally opened in Mumbai in 1948, shortly after assassination of the Indian leader, and it was transferred to New Delhi in 1961 and contains historical material about the life of Mahatma Gandhi and activity, being a place to promote policies and messages of non – violence and peace.
"You can hear about this place 1,000 times, but when you see it once you have a totally different level of understanding. I hope that more Moldovan citizens will have the opportunity to visit this museum, especially the youth, because they can become the factor of positive change in all countries of the world, beyond religious differences, or any other ones, because we are all equal. Everyone has to visit this unique place," said Moldovan minister.
At the end of the visit to museum, Minister Tudor Ulianovschi made a note in the guest book of museum: "Thank you for your honour and opportunity to become a better man and a better leader. I am proud to be an admirer of the great Mahatma Gandhi."
Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Tudor Ulianovschi, pays a working visit to India on 10 – 15 August, which is the first trip to New Delhi for a senior official within recent 25 years.
