Over 260 young people bought homes under First Home programme

Chisinau, 15 August /MOLDPRES/- 262 young people have already bought their homes under the First Home government program. Two other credit applications have been accepted and another 17 are under examination.
According to the government’s communication and protocol department, of the total number of credits, 14 were offered to the public service employees, under the terms of the "First Home 2", the state compensating half of the contracted loan.
Through the five banks participating in the program, credits amounting to over 121 million lei were offered, and the amount of guarantees provided by the state is about 61 million lei.
The value of the dwellings purchased under the program exceeded 140 million lei. Most of the beneficiaries are young families, and about one third - unmarried young people. The average age of applicants is 31 years.
The program also provides special facilities for families with children. The state will pay 10% of the house price for families with one child, 25% for families with two children, 50% - with three children, and for those who have 4 or more children, the government will pay the entire amount, the family paying only the interest rates. Starting from 3 August, families with children can already claim compensation.
The First Home program was launched on 26 March 2018, at the initiative of Prime Minister Pavel Filip. For compensations under the program, the state has earmarked 20 million lei.
