Prime Minister calls for urgent action to support Moldovans involved in work accident in Russia

Chisinau, 15 August /MOLDPRES/- “The fact that four Moldovan citizens are now, after the tragic accident at work, in serious condition in a foreign country far from home and relatives, cannot leave us indifferent. We will provide all necessary support to help our citizens," Prime Minister Pavel Filip said, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The official he asked the responsible institutions to provide the necessary support for those people. Following the premier’s request, the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations will provide assistance to the four persons who are in serious condition at St. Petersburg's hospitals. The IGSU will also ensure, jointly with Moldova Railways company, their transportation to Chisinau for the necessary medical assistance.
At the same time, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection will have a permanent communication with doctors in St. Petersburg and will monitor the healthcare process provided to Moldovan citizens, and in case of their transportation to Chisinau, they will ensure appropriate medical treatment.
The premier also asked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration to ensure immediate movement of representative of the Moldovan Embassy in the Russian Federation to the hospitals where our countrymen were hospitalized.
Four Moldovan citizens were injured yesterday on a building site in St. Petersburg. The work accident resulted in injuries of varying degrees - men aged between 23- 41 were taken to hospital and under medical supervision.
Recently, there has been an accident in the Russian Federation involving Moldovan citizens. Then the government intervened and covered the costs of repatriation of the six dead Moldovan citizens and provided the necessary support for the injured persons.
