Chisinau, 15 August /MOLDPRES/- Only cars will be able to cross the Palanca-Maiaki-Udobnoe checkpoint, and minibuses and buses will be redirected to the Tudora-Starokazacie crossing point. The decision was taken to ease border traffic in the context of rising passenger numbers.
Border Police Press Officer Ana Marchitan said that the action is already implemented in the morning and is applied if the passenger flow rises.
As a result, traffic through the Palanca-Maiaki-Udobnoe point has been fluidized. Thus, according to the "Online Traffic" application on the Border Police website, the average waiting time at that point was 30 minutes in the morning.
The proposal to redirect the minibuses and buses to the Tudora-Starokazacie crossing point was set by the representatives of the four border and customs authorities from Moldova and Ukraine, who met on Monday at a working meeting to identify concrete actions of clearance cross-border traffic.
Drivers are informed about the new border crossing rule.
At the end of last week, there were 17,860 crossings in PTF Tudora, while in PTF Palanca - 10,231 people crossings.
