Almost 2,500 persons in Moldova get free lung screening under campaign: A doctor for you

Chisinau, 15 August /MOLDPRES/ – Almost 2,500 persons have had free lung screening within fortnight since launch campaign "Un doctor pentru tine" (A doctor for you). Only in recent three days, there have been examined 500 persons in Falesti and Criuleni districts.
Minister of Healthcare, Labour and Social Protection, Svetlana Cebotari, has visited today the radiological mobile team in village Cruglic, Criuleni district, to check whether citizens are in right conditions for consultation and doctors meet the flow of people.
"Our goal is to track pathologies in due time so we can promptly intervene with appropriate treatment and eliminate the risk of developing tuberculosis or lung cancer in persons which have these diseases," said Svetlana Cebotari.
This week, inhabitants of villages Falestii Noi, Calugar, Frumusica, Albinetul Vechi, Albinetul Nou, Musteata, Redi, Socii Noi from Falesti district and villages Izbiste, Cruglic, Ohrincea, Jevreni, Raculesti, Balasesti from Criuleni district to Healthcare Centres to apply for free radiological tests.
In the first 6 months of 2018, the overall incidence of tuberculosis was 1,657 cases per 100,000 of population, down from the same period in 2017 when 1,748 cases per 100,000 of population.
Campaign A doctor for you was launched at initiative of Prime Minister Pavel Filip on 02 August 2018, According to the MSMPS's information and media communication service, doctors will continue to examine villagers for free according to established schedule.
