Moldovan poet inaugurates personal exhibition of plastic art, book

Chisinau, 15 August /MOLDPRES/ – An exhibition of paintings, graphics, book, active games in lines of poet and painter Iulian Filip was varnished today in Art Salon of the National Library of Moldova (BNM).
According to director of institution, Elena Pintilei, this is the third personal exhibition varnished by the author in this space, the first being in 1996, inaugurated on suggestion and by support of painter Gheorghe Oprea and art critic Tudor Braga. The exhibition includes over 100 paintings, graphics, as well as over 100 books signed by the author.
Interviewed by agency, academician Mihai Cimpoi said that he got to know Iulian Filip throughout everything he has written, painted and sang. "In all of these fields, he completes each other – painting is in poetry, poetry is in painting and music – so there is an organic unity between them." In this context, poet Ianos Turcanu said that Iulian Filip illustrated several books, knowing he would make the lines with a rare mastery and entwining colours.
Attending the event, the State Secretary for Culture, Andrei Chistol, specified that BNM is a suitable place for such an exhibition which combines more arts together.
Iulian Filip was born on 27 January 1948, in village Sofia, Drochia district. He graduated from the Faculty of Philology of the State University A. Russo in Balti. In 1974 he debuted with plaque of lyrics: "Neimpacatul mester" (The implacable craftsman), followed by poetry books: "Cerul fantanilor" (The sky of wells), "Dialoguri primordiale" (The primordial dialogues), "Hulub de posta" (The dove of post), "Unde esti?" (Where are you?), etc. He signed the graphic presentation of over 30 books. Totally, Iulian Filip has edited over 100 books. In 2010, Iulian Filip was decorated with "Ordinul de Onoare" (The order of honour), and in 2014 – National Order "Serviciul Credincios" (The faithful service) of Romania, in the rank of officer.
The exhibition is open until 30 September.
