Chisinau, 15 August /MOLDPRES/ – The OSCE Mission to Moldova has expressed concern over unauthorised military exercises carried out in the Security Zone (ZS) by the Operative Group of Russian Troops (GOTR) in recent few days.
According to a press release, OSCE Mission sent a team to ZS during the exercise, "but the team was obstructed to monitor it fully."
In this context, OSCE Mission urged all parties involved in implementation of the Agreement on principles of peaceful regulation from 1992 to fully respect its provisions and regime of ZS, as "this is in the interest of all parties."
According to the Agreement on principles of peaceful regulation of armed conflict in the Transnistrian region of Moldova from 21 July 1992, the military exercises in ZS must be authorised by Joint Control Commission (CUC), which was not done in this case.
The GOTR deployed military exercises by forcing the river in ZS on 14 – 15 August 2018.
