Moldovan citizen injured after collapse of bridge in Italy

Chisinau, 16 August /MOLDPRES/- A citizen of the Republic of Moldova was injured following the collapse of the highway bridge in Genoa. The information was confirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration in Chisinau.

The person has suffered a series of injuries and is hospitalized in a local hospital.

The Moldovan citizen was visited by Consul General of the Republic of Moldova in Milan.

Following the collapse of the bridge, 39 people, including a Moldovan, died, according to the preliminary report. The tragedy occurred on 14 August, on the A10 motorway, in Genoa, Italy.

The Moldovan Consulate in Milan is in permanent contact with local authorities and monitors developments.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration reminds that Moldovan citizens can apply for consular assistance at the emergency number of the Milan Consulate: +39 320 610 89 89.
