Chisinau, 16 August /MOLDPRES/- Farmers completed the harvest of wheat and barley in the first decade of August. At the same time, the works for the harvesting of dried peas and autumn rape were also concluded.
According to data provided by the Agricultural and Food Departments, about 1.1 million tons of cereals were harvested on almost 333,000 ha of wheat. The average yield per country is around 3.2 tonnes / ha. This does not differ greatly from the average of the last five years, which is north and south of 3.5 tons / ha, and in the center area - 2.8 tons / ha.
Data from the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment also show that agricultural producers have also completed the harvesting of dried peas and autumn rape. Thus, from an area of 23 thousand hectares, over 33 thousand tons of peas were gathered in total. This would mean an average of 1.4 tons / ha were harvested, down by 0.7 t / ha than the average of the last five years.
The autumn rape was sown on an area of 41,000 ha and a yield of about 83,000 tons was obtained. The average yield is 2.1 tons / ha and is equal to the average in recent years.
