Yellow code of heat prolonged in most area of Moldova

Chisinau, 16 August /MOLDPRES/ – The State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) has extended today the Yellow Code of heat, valid on 17 – 18 August, in the central and southern regions of Moldova.
According to the SHS’s information and media communication service, on 17 – 18 August, predominantly in central and southern districts, air temperature will reach values of 33°C – 34°C, during the day. At night, thermometers will indicate up to 21°C.
In the north, thermal values will register some degrees less, but likewise within heat limitations. Similarly, in northern area, it is possible rain during this week. By the weekend, it is also possible short, isolated rain in south and centre.
In this context, doctors warn persons with chronic, especially respiratory and cardiovascular diseases, pregnant women, elderly and children to avoid going outdoors during the hot perio of the day. Besides, it is not recommended to drink alcoholic beverages, excessive coffee, eat fatty and consistent food, preference given to fruits, vegetables, teas and light, vegetal dishes, as well as open colours, desirable from natural canvas.
Referred to Yellow Code of heat, the weather conditions are potentially dangerous, forecasted weather phenomena are common to territory of Moldova, which may temporarily become dangerous for certain socio – economic activities.
