About 5,000 lease agreements recorded at tax body in seven months of 2018

Chisinau, 17 August /MOLDPRES/- About 5,000 contracts on lease/rent of real estate were registered with the State Tax Service in January- July 2018.

At the same time, the tax authority has identified over 2,400 homeowners who rent real estate. At the same time, tax inspections were carried out on 234 private people who rent real estate, adding to the budget basic payments amounting to over 380,000 lei, penalties of about 55,000 lei and fines of 26,000 lei.

The SFS has been running a campaign since the beginning of this year to inform citizens about the provisions of the legislation on renting / hiring real estate.

According to the law, individuals who rent real estate must pay a 7 percent tax of revenue. Those who do not do so, risk fines and penalties, according to the Tax Code.
