Moldovan PM convenes meeting of Extraordinary national public healthcare commission

Chisinau, 17 August /MOLDPRES/ – On Monday, 20 August, Prime Minister Pavel Filip has convened the meeting of the Extraordinary National Public Healthcare Commission (CNESP) regarding the aggravation of epidemiological situation as a result of the increase in the number of infected children with measles.
According to the government's communication and protocol department, there are currently registered 88 confirmed and suspected cases of measles, 27 of them – confirmed and 61 – suspicious. Our of total number of cases, only three children were vaccinated with a single dose of vaccine.
PM Pavel Filip had previously asked the Ministry of Healthcare, Labour and Social Protection (MSMPS) to take urgent action to liquidate the measles outbreak and prevent disease spreading.
The measles outbreak was recorded in a summer camp organised in locality Morenii Noi, Ungheni district.
