Chisinau, 18 August /MOLDPRES/- A total of 1,900 children at risk of drop out will receive clothes and supplies needed to start the new school year. They were collected under the campaign "Child trained -protected child" initiated by the General Police Inspectorate.
The goods will be distributed even today to the police inspectorates in the country so that they will eventually reach all 1,900 children.
Gheorghe Cavcaliuc, deputy head of IGP, said that such a campaign is being organized for the first time in our country. "We appealed to all police officers across the country and each of our colleagues donated their children's outfits. At the same time, many people in leadership positions have donated half of their salary to buy the necessary for the 1,900 children. Businesses and ordinary citizens have also made donations," he said.
Last year, in the Republic of Moldova, juveniles committed more than 800 crimes. Most children, who committed crimes, did not attend school or even abandoned it. The campaign aims to reduce the number of juvenile delinquencies and their severity.
