Chisinau, 18 August /MOLDPRES/- A Safety Alley was inaugurated yesterday in Rezina. This is an initiative of the General Police Inspectorate and aims to teach the people how to avoid or protect themselves at risk.
The Rezina Safety Alley includes several warning boards, through which passersby are informed about traffic safety, how to protect their homes, cars and pockets of criminals, and how to prepare their children to react in situations of risk.
"Citizens of Rezina can walk on the Safety Alley, read the messages about their safety and their children. At present, we are witnessing a slight decrease in the crime rate in Moldova of about 9 percent, compared to the same period last year, and this fact is due to the opening of these alleys in the country. I want this number to be just a beginning, and we, along with mayors, district heads, representatives of civil society, make every effort to ensure that every locality in the country benefits from several Safety Alleys, " Alexandru Pânzari, IGP head, said.
Such Safety Alleys have been already inaugurated in 48 localities in the country.
