About 50 million lei allocated for repair works in kindergartens in Chisinau

Chisinau, 20 August /MOLDPRES/- About 50 million lei were earmarked for the repair works in kindergartens in the capital this year, which is four times more than in previous years. Acting mayor of Chisinau Ruslan Codreanu made the statement today.

He noted he will sign an order on allocation of another 8.6 million lei for priority repairs and 3.5 million lei for illumination of the preschool institutions.

"Another 36 million lei are needed to make repairs. The money will be requested from the Chisinau Municipal Council, and the amount will be included for next year. At present, 61 blocks and food storage facilities, 90 sanitary units were repaired, 20 institutions – roofs were repaired, 16 - doors and windows, 12 – laundries and 6 – medical points and 48 – pavilions. 1.9 million lei were spent for repair of rooms, and 11 groups were opened,” Codreanu said.

Besides the basic works, current repairs amounted to 8.9 million lei were made. "In 60 institutions, the lighting was restored and in other 46 - works will be carried out on 2 August - 15 September," he said.

Also, Codreanu unveiled a report on the functioning of pre-school institutions. Authorities have set up poor procurement planning, children's playgrounds are not safe, 90% of the kitchen hoods do not work or absorb very poor steam. More unjustified expenditure has been found.
