Moldovan executive approves admission plan for PhD studies

Chisinau, 20 August /MOLDPRES/ – The Government has approved today the admission plan for PhD studies, 3rd cycle, financed by the state budget, for academic year 2018 – 2019.
Through the draft of the Admission Plan for PhD Studies, the State ensures the training of staff for scientific career, providing annually funding from the state budget in form of doctoral grants.
Thus, the Admission Plan provides for awarding of 313 places for doctoral studies, cycle III, financed from the state budget for academic year 2018 – 2019. One third of these ones are offered in social and economic sciences. For the ones who wish to take their doctoral studies in medical science, there were awarded 65 grants, and for those who would like to study humanities – 58 grants. For foreign citizens, there will be offered 15 doctoral grants.
At the meeting of Executive, Minister of Education, Culture and Research, Monica Babuc, stated that the Plan was elaborated on the basis of proposals put forward by higher education institutions, consortia, national and international partnerships, including the ones established with participation of organisations within science innovation.
The award of doctoral grants is based on a competition of scientific projects between the Doctoral Schools of Higher Education Institutions and consortia or national and international partnerships authorised provisionally or accredited.
In te academic year 2017 – 2018, there were also offered 313 grants for doctoral studies, with financing from the state budget.
