Government decides to build busts of well – known Moldovans

Chisinau, 20 August /MOLDPRES/ – The bust of the famous theatre and cinema actor, Mihai Volontir, will be edited on the National Classical Alley of Balti municipality. A decision on it was approved by Executive today, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.

The sculptural composition will be raised as to eternalise the artist's memory, and necessary expenses for its execution and edification will be covered by donations and sponsorships.

Throughout the years devoted to theatre and film, Mihai Volontir played around 120 roles, being awarded with titles such as Artist al Poporului (Artist of the people), knight of "Ordinul Republicii" (Order of the Republic) and the best actor of the 20th century. The Master died on 15 September 2015.

Also today, it was approved the edifice of bust in memory of well – known politician Pantelimon Halippa. The bust is to be located in its native village – Cubolta village, Sangerei district. The expenses necessary for its installation in the market near Mayor's office will be covered from local budget, the citizens' donations and financial means of the Council of commune Aroneanu in Romania.

Pantelimon Halippa, born 01 August 1883, manifested himself through his political activity – in 1918 – 1934 he served as minister in various governments and MP in Parliament. Pantelimon Halippa also remarked as a writer, author of over 280 poems, articles, sketches and translations.
