Chisinau, 21 August /MOLDPRES/ – A group of young Polish members of scouting movement "Związek Harcerstwa Polskiego" visited Glodeni district on 20 August. The visit is part of a collaboration agreement signed in 2015 by administrations of Glodeni (Moldova) and Piotrkow (Poland) districts.
The young Polish scouts had a meeting with head of Glodeni district, Ion Leuca, which mentioned that the development of relations between the young people of the two territorial-administrative units has remained a priority.
"The future of our relationships depends on you, the young, and the impressions that will mark you during this visit, for the first time in Glodeni, will be imprinted in your memory for a long time. We will be glad to come whenever you want," said the head of Glodeni district. Ion Leuca also noted that the interaction between Glodeni and Piotrkow districts helps to preserve and promote the traditions, culture and religion of the Polish Diaspora in Moldova, underlining that there are two Catholic churches on the territory of Glodeni district.
The organiser of Polish scout visit to Glodeni district, Krzysztof Jędrzejczyk, thanked the authorities for hospitality and mentioned that the visit was occasioned by the centenary of the Independence of Poland, which will be marked on 11 November.
Also, in context of national holiday, the Independence Day of Moldova, the Polish scouts laid flowers to the Monument of Freedom in the centre of Glodeni city.
