Chisinau, 22 August /MOLDPRES/- All customs terminals will operate uninterruptedly during holiday on 27-31 August and all border customs posts will be filled by staff to effectively manage passenger flows. Customs Director Vitalie Vrabie made a request in this regard at a meeting with heads of all customs offices.

"It is important that citizens and businesses continue to benefit from quality services and prevent business disruptions. I request maximum mobilization from the entire staff to ensure good functionality during this period. All control formalities must be effective in order for people to spend as little time as possible in customs,” he said.

Vrabie asked to apply all measures on traffic flow, while it is expected a significant increase in flows of people who choose to spend the holiday abroad. The measures shall include the increase in the number of staff and verification equipment, use of all control lanes, including those on the opposite track, and involvement of the heads of customs posts and their deputies in customs control.

The work of the mobile teams, which ensures the second line of control throughout the country, will be also intensified so as to prevent frauds that could harm the state budget.

The listed actions have been proposed to be implemented to the neighboring authorities to ensure expeditious control on both sides of the border.

According to a government decision, on 28, 29 and 30 August will be days off. They will be recovered on Saturdays: 8 September, 29 September and 20 October. Thus, state employees will have a nine-day holiday.
