First tutorial hour in new year of study to be dedicated to Moldovan writer

Chisinau, 22 August /MOLDPRES/ – The first tutorial hour of in the new year of study will be devoted to the work of writer, playwright and essayist Ion Druta and have generic title: "Limba, istoria si pamantul sunt cei trei piloni care tin o natiune – Ion Druta la cei 90 de ani impliniti" (Language, history and land are the three pillars of a nation – Ion Druta at those 90 years old).

At the level of each school cycle, depending on the knowledge of pupils of the personality of writer and the work of Druta, certain subject lines can be developed at discretion of teaching staff, is specified in an act signed by the Minister of Education, Culture and Research, Monica Babuc.

The solemn celebration of the first bell ringing in school year 2018 – 2019 will take place on 03 September, starting at 08:30, in all educational institutions. The event will begin with the honour of state symbols. The duration of festivity will not exceed 45 minutes.

On 03 September 2018, Ion Druta will mark his 90th anniversary. He is an honorary member of the Academy of Romania (AR) and member of Academy of Sciences of Moldova (ASM). Since 1987, Ion Druta is honorary president of the Union of Writers of Moldova (USM). He is decorated with several orders and medals, holds the title of People's Writer. In August 2008, Ion Druta was awarded the State Prize for an exceptional contribution to development of national and universal culture and literature. The work of Ion Druta was translated into dozens of languages.
