EUR continues to increase against MDL

Chisinau, 22 August /MOLDPRES/ – The European single currency (EUR) continues to get more expensive. For 23 August, the National Bank of Moldova (BNM) has set an official exchange rate of MDL 19,37 for €01, with MDL 0,07 more than today.
But USD will be cheaper by MDL 0,03 and have an official price of MDL 16,72. The Ukrainian hryvnia (UAH) will cheapen with MDL 0,01. It will cost MDL 0,59.
The Romanian leu (RON) will have a quote of MDL 04,17, with MDL 0,02 more than today. The Russian rouble (RUB) will keep the value of MDL 0,24.
Also today, BNM presented data on currency demand and supply in the foreign exchange market in July. Thus, the coverage of the net demand of foreign currency by economic agents throughout the net foreign currency offer from individuals constituted, in July, 125.1 per cent compared to 106.5 per cent in June 2018.
Similarly, the net foreign exchange supply of individuals grew by $27.6 million (+15.0 per cent), while the net demand for foreign currency by economic agents decreased by $3.7 million (–2.1 per cent). Under these circumstances, BNM intervened throughout foreign exchange purchases on the local interbank market in the amount of $36 million.
