Two Moldovan artists named Citizens of Honour in locality of Romania

Chisinau, 23 August /MOLDPRES/ – The conductor and violinist Nicolae Botgros and folk musician Ion Paladi have been named Citizens of Honour of Corlateni commune, Botosani county of Romania.

The distinctions were handed over on the Day of Commune, within performance: La frati nu se pun hotare (The border is not put to brothers), in front of the guests and officials present at event.

"The Centenary Year's issue was marked by performance: The border is not put to brothers. We wanted it to be a beautiful show, the one for citizens of our community, a show to which I particularly invited Orchestra Lautarii, led by master Nicolae Botgros and artist Ion Paladi, persons which I considered the Union's messengers here and beyond the Prut. That is what I have been doing since I knew them," said mayor of Corlateni, Costel Gavril.

At his turn, Master Nicolae Botgros thanked for this distinction and mentioned that "it is a great honour and diatinction, because all my life I wanted to be with my people." Interpreter Ion Paladi, which was previously designated Citizen of Honour in George Enescu commune, said that this title is due to "extraordinary audience." "For me it is a great joy and honour to receive it, where the great composer, violinist and conductor George Enescu was born and raised! I am very glad that I am an honorary citizen of this commune, along with great names such as: Master Nicolae Botgros, Eugen Doga, Constantin Rusnac, Iulian Filip and Vasile Iovu," said Ion Paladi.

The show is part of the Centenary of the Great Union tour: The border is not put to brothers, whith some concerts, by artists from both sides of the Prut, accompanied by Master Nicolae Botgros and Orchestra Lautarii.

The tournament started on 03 February 2018 in Chisinau, then continued in Bucharest, Iasi, Galati, and continued in Cernauti, Brasov, Cluj, London, Paris and Madrid.
