New meeting of political representatives in Transnistrian settlement process held in Tiraspol

Chisinau, 24 August /MOLDPRES/- Political representatives in the negotiations on the Transnistrian settlement Cristina Lesnic and Vitalii Ignatiev met on Thursday at the headquarters of the OSCE Mission in Tiraspol. Attending the meeting were working groups for the development of road transport and road infrastructure, as well as representatives of the mediators and observers in the "5 + 2" negotiation format, the Bureau for Reintegration has reported.

The discussions focused on the implementation of the provisions of the Protocol Decision "On access to international road transport in Transnistria, not performing commercial activities", signed on 24 April.

As soon as the activity of the registration points of the vehicles with the headquarters in Tiraspol and Ribnita follows, the key issue on the agenda was to coordinate all the actions in order to ensure the proper functioning of these subdivisions of the Public Services Agency.

In this context, the participants in the meeting visited both locations where these points will be opened, and assessed their readiness to conduct their work procedures.

Lesnic stressed the importance of starting the activity of these registration points within the established deadline to ensure the implementation of the agreed issues in order to get closer the two banks of the Dniester.

The Chisinau authorities have honored their commitments under the protocol decision of 24 April 2018 by adjusting the national regulatory framework and through expert efforts in the sectoral working groups.
