Arena Chisinau construction public – private partnership contract signed

Chisinau, 24 August /MOLDPRES/ – The company in Turkey, which will deal with the design and construction of Arena Chisinau, will build the multifunctional complex within 12 months from the moment of receiving the construction authorisation. This is stipulated in the public – private partnership contract signed in Chisinau today.  

Minister of Education, Culture and Research, Monica Babuc, told at a briefing today that Arena Chisinau would be built on a 10 ha area near Stauceni and the land is already ready for the construction site. The private partner's investment will be reimbursed in half-yearly installments for 12 years from the launch of construction.

Based upon contract, the company has undertaken to carry out design and construction works for multifunctional complex, including furnishing, installing accessories and equipment, landscaping, utilities and other infrastructure activities, in accordance with the technical and financial offer presented by private partner in contest.

After the contract signing, it will be implemented a series of technical elements on elaboration of permissive documents and preparation of land.

The public – private partnership contract was signed by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research (MECC), as a public partner, by the Turkish company as a private partner and by two other limited liability companies.

The project of the public-private partnership contract regarding the design and construction of multipurpose arena of national interest Arena Chisinau was approved by the Executive earlier this week. The private partner selection contest was held on 05 May – 04 July 2018.

Project Arena Chisinau involves the construction of a multifunctional arena with a capacity of 3,000 – 5,000 persons. The Arena will host various events, such as sports, congresses and concerts.
