Meteorologists extend yellow code of heat, exceptional fire hazard danger in Moldova

Chisinau, 25 August /MOLDPRES/ – The meteorologists have extended the Yellow Code of heat until 27 August, and 30 August – the Yellow Code for exceptional fire hazard danger.
Thus, on 25 – 27 August, in central and southern districts the maximum air temperature will reach up to 33°C – 34°C.
During heat, the physicians recommend limiting the period of walks and sunbathing at 10:00 – 18:00, intense physical effort, wearing natural fiber light clothes of open colours with long – sleeves and putting on caps and hats. It is also recommended to consume an average of 02 – 03 litres of not too cold plain water, warm teas, fresh fruits/vegetables, avoiding alcoholic beverages and containing caffeine.
Similarly, on 25 – 30 August, it will be maintained the exceptional fire hazard (category V) of natural character and fire threat of forest strips, agricultural crops.
Related to it, the rescuers and forest – keepers warn that it is possible to ignite agricultural land, forage land, forest vegetation areas, dwellings and household annexes.
These services require the public to avoid the use of open fire near dwellings, household annexes and feedstocks on land covered by dry vegetation, especially when located near forests, plantations or high risk fire objects. At the same time, it is recommended to restrict works that create favourable conditions for production of fires by volatile substances or excessive overheating.
Also, the State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) announces in early of upcoming week rainfall with electric discharges in the north and center of Moldova.
