Tender for construction of Chisinau – Ungheni gas pipeline to be organised in early September 2018

Chisinau, 26 August /MOLDPRES/ – The Romanian company Transgaz has announced the fulfillment of all suspensive terms agreed within sale – purchase contract of the Moldovan company IS Vestmoldtransgaz, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
As such, in early September, it will be signed the protocol in Chisinau and it will be collected MDL 180.2 million from the sale transaction of Vestmoldtransgaz. Company Transgaz will complete construction of the Ungheni – Chisinau gas pipeline, investing over €90 million.
Shortly, it will be changed the organisational and legal form of enterprise: from state enterprise to Limited Liability Company (SRL), and until 10 September 2018, there will be organised tender procedures for purchase of needed materials and services for construction of the Ungheni – Chisinau gas pipeline. The construction works will begin immediately after completion of tender procedures. The Government endorsed the construction of this objective and issued the building permit.
Previously, PM Pavel Filip had urged the authorities in charge to intervene promptly and efficiently to remove all impediments and as to meet duly the terms for commencement of gas pipeline construction.
The contract for privatisation of IS Vestmoldtransgaz by the Romanian company Transgaz was signed on 28 March 2018. The Ungheni – Chisinau pipeline will have a length of 120 km and capacity to transport around 1.5 billion m3 of natural gas from Romania to Moldova yearly.
