South – central city of Moldova hosts National Festival of Grapes, 6th issue

Chisinau, 26 August /MOLDPRES/ – Dozens of viticulturists and companies from all over Moldova participate today at the 6th issue of the National Festival of Grapes (FNS) in Cimislia city.

The event is organized by the Council of Cimislia district (CRC) in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and the Environment (MADRM), Association of Moldovan Producers and Exporters of Grapes (APESM).

"The festival has become a beautiful tradition, being also a mass event in Moldova, dedicated to mass grapes producers. Also, Cimislia is the place where the grapes producers in the country, exporters, scientists in the field, producers of packaging and planting material, meet as to initiate and establish partnership relations, consolidate the efforts to expand the business and identify new markets" specified head of Cimislia district, Iovu Bivol, at event opening.

According to official, the festival comes to confirm "the significant progress in mass grape cultivation, which represents Moldova plenary".

The festival participants, representing all wine – making areas in Moldova, have demonstrated to visitors the most valuable achievements and new varieties of grapes produced in autochthonous vineyards. "We brought here the sweetest grapes from the southern sunny Moldovan plateau, which have special taste qualities and can even heal," said viticulturists from delegation of Basarabeasca.

The event organises exhibitions of folk craftsmen, fairs and tastings of national grapes and dishes, competitions and master classes. The festival agenda is accompanied during the day by an artistic programme, supported by artists from region and Moldova.
