Minister of Economy talked t o representatives of Transgaz

Chisinau, 27 August /MOLDPRES/- Minister of Economy and Infrastructure Chiril Gaburici paid an official visit to Romania, where he met with representatives of Transgaz.
He noted that the fulfillment of the conditions for the construction of the Ungheni-Chisinau gas pipeline has come to an end. "We decided to start the official visit to Romania with talks with Transgaz. After the fulfillment of the contractual conditions for the construction of the gas pipeline, the construction works are started as soon as possible so that the gas pipeline is operational by the end of the next year "he said.
Gaburici appreciated the good cooperation with the Romanian side and reiterated that he wants the construction works to start in the shortest time.
According to the minister, the necessary conditions for the construction of the pipeline were met, among which: the issuing of the construction authorization by the Moldovan authorities; providing the enterprise with the right to use the land affected by the existing gas pipeline, and ensuring that the procedures for the procurement of goods and works in the project are carried out smoothly.
Transgaz has appreciated the accelerated pace in which Chisinau carries out the measures for finalizing the transaction through which "Eurotransgaz" will take over the Vestmoldtransgaz State Enterprise from the Republic of Moldova and has assured that the works for the construction of the Ungheni-Chisinau gas pipeline will start with the completion the reorganization procedure.
Also, Transgaz's management thanked the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure and the Government of Moldova for the support given to the successful completion of the transaction.
The contract for the privatization of Vestmoldtransgaz company by the Romanian company "Transgaz" was signed on 28 March this year. Transgaz SA has undertaken to construct the Ungheni-Chisinau gas pipeline within up to two years and its commitment to invest up to 93 million euros.
