Moldova, United Arab Emirates interested in strengthening bilateral relations

Chisinau, 27 August /MOLDPRES/- Strengthening the bilateral relations between the Republic of Moldova and the United Arab Emirates, including through boosting relations between the business communities of the two countries, as well as by attracting Emirian investments in our country, was discussed today at a meeting between Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Tudor Ulianovschi and United Arab Emirates Ambassador to Moldova residing in Kiev Salem Ahmed Salem Ali Al Kaabi.
According to the MAEIE’s press service, the officials have reviewed the latest developments in bilateral relations between the two countries, especially the inauguration by the head of Moldovan diplomacy of the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Abu Dhabi, as well as the conduct of the Moldovan-emirate economic forum in Dubai, concrete actions aimed at aiming boosting cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and the United Arab Emirates.
In this context, Ulianovschi reiterated the special importance of cooperation relations with the United Arab Emirates, reiterating on this occasion the desire of the authorities in Chisinau for the inauguration of an Emirian diplomatic mission in Chisinau, which will certainly create additional opportunities for using on the collaboration potential between the two countries. He reiterated the interest in opening the General Consulate of the Republic of Moldova in Dubai.
Ambassador Salem Ali Al Kaabi welcomed the efforts made by the authorities of the Republic of Moldova to strengthen bilateral relations, noting the full opening of his country's authorities in the development of Moldovan-emirate cooperation.
The two officials also discussed issues on preparation and participation of the country in the Dubai Expo 2020 international exhibition, noting that this represents a very good opportunity for the Republic of Moldova to promote domestic products and services on international markets, to establish new partnerships with the business environment of other states, etc.
They expressed satisfaction with boosting the trade exchanges between Moldova and United Arab Emirates, which grew 3.8 times in the first six months of this year, compared to the same period last year.
