DOR program participants visited Moldovan parliament

Chisinau, 28 August /MOLDPRES/- The Parliament hosted, on the Independence Day of Moldova, the 100 children participating in the Government Program “Diaspora. Origin. Return” (DOR), the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
Accompanied by volunteers, the children took part in a guided tour of the Legislature building, were informed of the work of MPs, parliamentary history and visited Europa Hall, the museum of the institution, the press conference room and meeting room.
In the Parliament, the guests watched videos about the lawsuit, asked questions and discussed with officials of the institution.
During August, the Parliament was visited by about 100 citizens of Moldova staying abroad. At the same time, for the first time, the Legislature participated this year in the Diaspora Congress, the 8th edition.
The DOR program is organized each year in August and gathers 80 diaspora from different countries and 20 young people from Moldova. The purpose of the camp is to strengthen the emotional, cultural and identity ties of the diaspora youth with the native country.
Since the beginning of this year, over 4,500 people have paid fact-collecting visits to the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova. 10% of all visitors were foreign citizens. Among the most active visitors of the Moldovan Legislature were those from Romania, Great Britain, Spain and Portugal. The parliament was also visited by citizens from Chile, Argentina, Mexico and Colombia.
