Over 100 children, youth of diaspora and Moldova participated in DOR Program

Chisinau, 28 August /MOLDPRES/- The sixth edition of the DOR Government Program ended today. It brought together children and young people from 18 countries aged 12-17, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
During seven days, the program participants were involved in various thematic workshops and activities to learn more about culture and national traditions. The children also learned more about the wood carving art, the national holidays and the ancestral traditions - during the last evening of the program, the youngsters have improvised a Moldovan wedding.
On the Independence Day of the Republic of Moldova, the participants in the DOR program visited the Parliament, where they were informed about the activity of the Legislature.
Premier Pavel Filip urged children not to lose touch with the parents' home and to promote national values and traditions.
More than 100 children and young people participated in the 6th edition of the DOR Program, of which 80 were from the diaspora and 20 from the Republic of Moldova. DOR Camp – Diaspora. Origin. Return - is organized annually under the patronage of the Government to strengthen the cultural ties of the diaspora children with the country of origin - Republic of Moldova.
