Programme PARE 1+1: 1,246 funded companies, 3,200 new jobs, investments of MDL 767.7 million in Moldova

Chisinau, 29 August /MOLDPRES/ – There have been funded 1,246 companies throughout programme PARE 1+1 since 2010. Until now, within programme there have been provided grants in the amount of MDL 242.4 million, madking it possible to attract investments in the value of MDL 767.7 million.

According to the government’s communication and protocol department, the programme has helped to open 538 new businesses, mostly in rural area, and create 3,200 jobs. The programme participants have developed new businesses for Moldova such as almond cultivation, ostrich and snail growth. The amount of 48 per cent of entrepreneurs is up to 35 years old and about 30 per cent are women.

The PARE 1+1 Programme Remittances in Economy for 2010 – 2018 is intended for migrant workers or first – degree relatives which want to invest in initiating or expanding a business at home. Under the programme, the entrepreneurs can get a grant of up to MDL 250 thousand, based upon the 1 + 1 principle: each MDL invested in remittances is supplemented with one MDL of PARE 1+1.

Thus, the programme facilitates access to finance for migrants and their reintegration into society, while contributing to economic development of Moldova. The programme also stimulates the setting up of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), informing about the opportunities for developing a business in Moldova. So far, there have been trained 1,975 persons in organising a business.
