Chisinau, 30 August /MOLDPRES/ – Moldova is interested in developing and deepening bilateral relations with Hungary, and it is important for Moldova to boost trade, especially from the need to relaunch the positive dynamics of their volume. The statement was made by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Tudor Ulianovschi, at the Budapest meeting with Hungarian Deputy Prime Minister, Zsolt Semjén, the MAEIE’s public diplomacy, strategic communication and media interaction service has reported.

In this context, Minister Tudor Ulianovschi said that the authorities in Chisinau are interested in capitalising on the bilateral cooperation protocol in the field of economic diplomacy, signed by the two states in 2014, by exchanging experience, attracting investors to projects of mutual interest, etc. "We are interested in using the experience of the National Chamber of Commerce of Hungary in the involvement of economic attachés, as well as establishing a close cooperation and active exchange of practices between the Moldovan Investment Agency (AIM) and the HIPA (Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency)", said the head of Moldovan diplomacy.

Analising the evolution of trade and economic exchanges of Moldova and Hungary, Tudor Ulianovschi and Zsolt Semjén have found that both parties do not make full use of the existing mechanisms for their capitalisation, with reserves in all areas. According to the two officials, an important step in deepening the bilateral relations between the two states is the efficiency of the work of the Moldovan – Hungarian intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation. Referring to the next meeting of this Commission to be held in Chisinau, Tudor Ulianovschi and Zsolt Semjén agreed on organisation of working groups in tourism and transport, which would elaborate and propose for approval a more in-depth cooperation plan in the given fields .

The Hungarian Deputy PM reiterated the support of efforts of the Government of Moldova to promote the agenda for transformation and implementation of the Association Agreement, and the Budapest authorities being available to give all the expertise on it. In the context, despite the recent developments in the relations between Moldova and EU, Zsolt Semjén urged the Chisinau authorities to continue implementing the undertaken commitments, starting from the national interest of Moldova.

In the dialogue, the Hungarian Deputy PM mentioned that Hungary is focusing its international development cooperation on seven priority countries, Moldova being one of them. "Since joining the EU, Hungary has implemented over 40 projects in Moldova in order to promote and deepen economic and political cooperation. Also, there were implemented 15 projects on the training of experts in the fields of social security and local administration, training of Moldovan diplomats, etc. We are willing and continue to give all the support of the Chisinau authorities in promoting reforms," said Zsolt Semjén.

At the invitation of Hungarian Foreign and Foreign Trade Minister, Péter Szijjártó, head of Moldovan diplomacy, Tudor Ulianovschi, paid a working visit to Budapest on 28 – 29 August.
