Head of Moldovan diplomacy, vice – chairman of Parliament of Hungary discuss bilateral cooperation

Chisinau, 30 August /MOLDPRES/ – The parliaments of Hungary and Moldova have a very fruitful collaboration, which allows us to carry out more cooperation projects on both the bilateral dimension and within various international forums. The statement was made by the Deputy Speaker of Hungarian Parliament, István Jakab, at a meeting with Foreign Minister and European Integration Minister, Tudor Ulianovschi, which paid a working visit to Budapest, the MAEIE’s public diplomacy, strategic communication and media interaction service has reported.
According to the Hungarian official, following the visits of colleagues from Chisinau to Budapest, especially the members of the Moldovan – Hungarian Friendship Interparliamentary Group, the delegation of the Public Administration, Regional Development, Environment and Climate Change Commission and other groups, there was achieved establishment of a direct and effective dialogue that will allow for realisation of several joint projects in the interests of Moldova and Hungary. "Due to these relations, we launched a new Twinning project at the end of 2017: The strengthening the capacities of the Parliament of Moldova in the process of harmonization of national legislation with EU legislation, which implies taking over the best practices of Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic and Poland regarding the role and functioning of the working bodies of the Legislature in the context of relations with EU", said the vice – chairman of the Parliament of Hungary.
At his turn, Minister Tudor Ulianovschi appreciated highly the support of Hungary for the European integration agenda of Moldova, noting that Moldova is interested in taking the best practices from Hungarian colleagues in the process of achieving the strategic objective of European integration. "The implementation of the Association Agreement remains the number one priority for both the Government and the Parliament, which will make every effort to fulfill their liabilities. Our objective is to ensure the irreversibility of the European integration process of Moldova", said the head of the Moldovan diplomacy.
In the dialogue, István Jakab and Tudor Ulianovschi exchanged views on other areas of mutual interest, including evolution of the regional and international situation, cooperation within different world organisations, etc.
