Moldovan PM congratulates national writer at 90th anniversary

Chisinau, 03 September /MOLDPRES/ – Prime Minister, Pavel Filip, had a telephone conversation with writer, Ion Druta, which is now 90 years old. Pavel Filip congratulated him on the occasion of his anniversary, expressing his high appreciation for his valuable creation, which cultivates the love of Moldova, people and life, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
The PM said that the true legacy of Moldova is the talented people that promote the national values. Pavel Filip wished the Master a lot of health, joy, inspiration, but also strength to continue his vocation – demonstrated throughout his works.
Today, on the occasion of the Master's anniversary, in the educational institutions of Moldova, the first lesson of this school year was devoted to the work of writer, playwright and essayist Ion Druta, having the generic title: Limba, istoria si pamantul sunt cei trei piloni care tin o natiune – Ion Druta la cei 90 de ani impliniti (Language, history and land are the three pillars of a nation – Ion Druta at the age of 90". Thus, pupils have been able to learn more about the contribution of the writer in promoting national values. Also today, on stage of Mihai Eminescu National Theatre, it is played performance: Casa Mare (The guests' room), after the work of the writer.
Ion Druta was born on 03 September 1928, in village Horodiste, Donduseni district. His works, like: Frunze de dor (The leaves of longing), Casa Mare (The guests' room), Ultima luna de toamna (The last month of autumn), Povara bunatatii noastre (The burden of our kindness), Clopotnita (The bell tower), Toiagul pastoriei (Toiagul pastoriei) or Tacerea Pamantului (The silence of the ground) are part of the golden fund of the national literature. His most famous works have been translated into various languages, thus promoting the cultural heritage of Moldova in the world.
