Chisinau, 04 September /MOLDPRES/ – The drivers in Moldova will be able to obtain international driving licences. The Public Services Agency (ASP) has announced today that it began receiving requests for such documents.
According to the ASP's information and media communication service, the international driving licences will be issued on request, based upon a national driving licence. The model of these documents has already been approved by the Government in compliance with the provisions of the Vienna Convention on Road Traffic signed in 1968.
According to the cited source, as to be in possession of the international driving licence, the applicants must present the identity document (ID), new national driving licence, proof of payment of established tariff and application form. The fee for issuing the document within 30 days is MDL 320.
The international driving licence will be valid for driving in international traffic only in presence of the national driving licence and issued for up to three years. The Act will lose its validity when canceling the right to drive and withdrawal of the national driving licence.
The statistical data shows that Moldova has over one million drivers.
