Seventy Moldovan servicemen participate in multinational drills in Ukraine

Chisinau, 4 September /MOLDPRES/ - A number of 70 officers and non-commissioned officers of the National Army on 3-15 September participate in a multinational exercise, Rapid Trident-2018, held at the training centre from Yavoriv, western Lviv region of Ukraine.
The commander of the Moldovan contingent, Nicolae Frasineac, said that the exercise was aimed at “enhancing the inter-operability between servicemen and preparing them for international peacekeeping missions.”
Frasineac also said that the Moldovan military detached to the drills would carry out missions specific to peacekeeping operations, such as the escorting of convoy, patrol and medical evacuation.
In 2018, Rapid Trident brings together about 2,300 servicemen from Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland, Romania, the USA, Turkey and Ukraine.
The National Army has been participating in these drills starting from 2006.
